Public Schools

Tomball Independent School District (Tomball ISD) is an award-winning public school system serving more than 18,000 students across 20 campuses. Tomball ISD has received consecutive “A” ratings from the Texas Education Agency.

Tomball ISD takes pride in its progressive instructional programs and maintains a strong foundation of guiding principles, beliefs, and a visionary mission of the future. Companies locating in Tomball reap the long-term benefits of a school district which prioritizes workforce development and career education.

The Tomball Economic Development Corporation considers Tomball ISD one of its most important partners. The TEDC and Tomball ISD collaborate annually on career fairs, Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) camps, and apprenticeship opportunities. 

Private Schools

Tomball is home to several accredited and excellent private and parochial schools of all grade levels. These institutions provide opportunities for students to achieve academic success in a more intimate setting. The Tomball Economic Development Corporation works closely with the private schools in the area to prepare students for future workforce opportunities.

Lone Star College

The Tomball Economic Development Corporation maintains a strategic commitment to develop workforce opportunities in conjunction with its educational partners. The TEDC and growing Tomball business community have a great partner in the Lone Star College System, the second largest community college system in Texas.

With a 143-acre main campus and two additional campus centers enrolling more than 9,000 students each semester in campus and online courses, Lone Star College – Tomball helps address employment needs. The campuses offer degrees and certificates that directly translate into a qualified labor force.

LSC-Tomball students can earn Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degrees, complete their general education courses for transfer to a four-year college or university, or earn workforce certificates in a variety of areas that lead to high-demand jobs.

The main campus is home to LSC-Tomball Community Library, a joint library with Harris County Public Library system, which houses a wide variety of resources for the community, including an Innovation Lab, resources to serve the research needs of students, and a children’s library.

In addition to traditional course offerings, fast track options, and “finish early” courses, it is now possible to become “Core-complete” exclusively online! Students enrolled at Lone Star College or any public university in Texas, must complete the Texas Core Curriculum. Core classes taken at LSC-Tomball are transferrable to public four-year institutions across the state.

Continuing education courses for lifelong learners are also available. Discovery College provides a safe and fun college experience during the summer for students age 6–17. The Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) program offers opportunities for adults age 50+ to take free or low-cost classes and participate in personal interest activities. Preparation courses for the General Educational Development (GED) test are also offered, along with other adult basic education courses.
