Tomball EDC Collect Excellence in Economic Development Awards

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (September 30, 2022) – The Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) was honored with a pair of 2022 Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The awards were announced at IEDC’s Annual Conference in Oklahoma City on September 20.

A Silver Excellence Award was presented to the TEDC for its 2021 Annual Report. This marks the fifth consecutive year the TEDC Annual Report has been honored with an Excellence in Economic Development Award and the second consecutive Silver recognition. The Annual Report helps inform stakeholders of the TEDC’s annual accomplishments in support of job creation, job retention, tax base enrichment, innovation and entrepreneurship, and quality of life enhancements - delivering on the elements of the TEDC Strategic Plan.

 The TEDC claimed a Bronze Excellence Award for its website, TomballTXEDC.org, in the General Purpose Website category. The newly designed website is a vital resource for business leaders, developers, brokers, site selectors, entrepreneurs, and others who drive economic development.

“Our team is thrilled to again be recognized by the IEDC for our accomplishments serving the Tomball community through economic development,” said TEDC Executive Director, Kelly Violette. “The awards which we won—Annual Report and General Purpose Website—showcase our ability to communicate with stakeholders. The TEDC believes in communication and transparency and I appreciate the IEDC recognizing our ability to do that successfully.”

IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world's best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year's most influential leaders. Twenty five award categories honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities. Awards are judged by a diverse panel of economic and community developers from around the world. IEDC received over 500 submissions from the United States and four additional countries around the world.
